Consulting

Jim's Pharmacy is not a faceless big box pharmacy. When you come to Jim's, you'll see the same people every time. We get to know our clients as individuals and we care about each one's well-being. Tell us what's on your mind. Whether it's pain management, cough and cold remedies, hormone replacement, sleep difficulties, dosages for infants or elderly, we'll find the answers you need.

Our drive-up window is open from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays, and noon to 4:00 pm on Sundays. Prescription refills may be sent in via email (jims@jimsrx.com), fax (360-457-6557) or by phone (360-452-4200/1-800-421-0406). Free parking and home delivery are available. Jim's bills most insurance companies directly.

The pharmacists at Jim's Pharmacy will be happy to discuss your needs with you and your doctor.

Compounding

The traditional art and science of compounding prescriptions is alive and well at Jim's Pharmacy. When practiced by a highly skilled pharmacist, compounding prescriptions on an individual basis ensures a far more accurate and effective delivery of medication to the patient.

Drug manufacturers create medications in fixed dosages. This does not account for the vast physical differences between people. For example, body composition, genetics, age and gender can all contribute to requirements that may be different from the pre-manufactured dosages. A compounding pharmacy can make dosage forms that are not available for a specific drug from the manufacturer. If your requirements fall somewhere between available dosage amounts, you'll either get too much or not enough of the medication.

Compounding also helps with pain management and the creation of unique dosage forms to help get the medicine to where it is needed. Options can include lozenges, wafers, suppositories, capsules, lollipops and creams. All of these are formulated so that the medicine will be taken as prescribed, and as a result, the compliance factor increases significantly.

Jim's Pharmacy compounds medications under strict guidelines to guarantee the highest quality product. Some of the benefits from compounded products include:

  1. A prescription can be made in any strength to meet the specific needs of a patient.
  2. A person that cannot swallow pills can have a unique dosage form made for them, such as a concentrated liquid, wafer, transdermal or suppository.
  3. People allergic to dyes, fillers, binders and preservatives can have allergy-free dosage forms.
  4. An old medication that has been withdrawn from the market can be formulated by a compounding pharmacy.
  5. For someone who takes multiple medications, a formula can be devised to include all of medications in one dosage form.
