Jim's Pharmacy Presents Free Vitamins for Kids!
Jim's Pharmacy is proud to give back to the community. On August 1st, 2010 they began their Free Vitamins for Kids Program. Children ages 2 to 12 can get free multiple chewable vitamins. A sign-up form must be completed by a parent or guardian and Jim's will supply a free 30 day supply for each child in the household every month.
When asked what motivated him to start this program, Joe Cammack, owner of Jim's Pharmacy replied, "Simple, it's the right thing to do for our community."
The American Acadamy of Pediatrics now suggests 400 units of Vitamin D per day from infancy to adolescence. Humans build up Vitamin D stores from exposure to sunlight, diet and supplements. Vitamin D deficiency is common in children and adults. With busy schedules and picky eaters it can be difficult for parents to ensure that children are getting the right amount of vitamins and minerals through their meals.
Jim's Pharmacy wants to help local families stay healthy. Helping kids stay healthy can better prepare them to battle common illnesses during the school year and decrease absenteeism and doctor's visits.
